Distant Fellowship: Morris & South Asia

EXHIBITION, ARTIST INTERVENTION & ALTERNATIVE GUIDE TO THE COLLECTION
Distant Fellowship
Morris & South Asia, 2021

Exhibition
Our exhibition - Distant Fellowship explores and develops connections between William Morris and South Asia. The first floor landing features a reading space with examples of Kolam, a block-printed pattern designed by Studio Carrom, printed by Tharangini Studio in Bangalore, based on Morris’s designs and includes South Asian elements present in modern Walthamstow. Used to create a domestic-style space within the Gallery, where visitors can explore alternative resources around Morris and South Asia in various community languages.
